A contractor leads list from map data

Trades are tagged as craft on OpenStreetMap, so plumbers, electricians, roofers, painters and builders each have their own category.

Search electricians in Glasgow or roofers in Denver. The rows list each tradesperson or firm that someone has mapped, with a phone number or website where it was entered. Many small trades have only a name and a location, so expect a thinner table than for shops.

Suppliers use these lists to find new accounts, insurance and software sellers use them for prospecting, and franchise owners use them to see who they compete with. A local call list of fifty plumbers with real phone numbers is a good afternoon of work.

The email finder helps most here. Tradespeople often have a one page website with an address at the bottom. It reads that page, checks robots.txt, and fills in the Email column when it finds one. It will not find an address that is not on the site, and it never invents one.

In three steps

  1. Search the trade and the town.
  2. Run Find emails on the paid plans.
  3. Export and call the rows that have a phone number first.
